LA Times columnist Meghan Daum, and house junkie, has just released her first book titled, "Life Would Be Perfect If I Lived in That House". She tells her own story of her early years living in Austin, Texas with her family and then moving around the country. As she grows to adult-hood, Meghan passionately seeks out her own piece of home. In her search she scours listings, drives by for sale signs, peeks in windows, tours hundreds of homes and makes her first home purchase. She depletes her savings to buy and update a vintage home and lives through it all to re-tell the tale in her own humorous voice.
I couldn't help reading and relating to her story. I felt like a kindred spirit was talking to me through those pages. We've never met, spoken or even tweeted but I feel like Meghan is a friend and her gift to me is this book.
